I grew up skiing and snowboarding, so I had no issues in my skill level, but there were no female role models for me to look up to. When I learned to surf, I was too intimidated to join the lineup, so I spent most of my time paddling around without catching waves. I would go to the skatepark at 6AM so no one could see me suck at skateboarding. Finally, I decided it was time to embrace my embarrassment and help other women gain confidence in the process.

Gnarly Girls is a blog dedicated to creating an inclusive community for female skiers, surfers, snowboarders, skaters, and beyond. We give visibility to women of all levels through interviews and editorials, and provide "How To" guides. Gnarly Girls is a place where novices can ask questions, and find inspiration to get to the next level without judgement.
